Reports to: Production Manager
The purpose of the Position:
The aim of this job is to deliver finished products on time and in full consistent with intended Productivity, Quality, Delivery, Safety, Morale expectation.
General Responsibilities
The candidate is required to -; Ensure daily safety training is conducted and follow up is done to have accident free environment. Achieving Targeted OEE for VS and Manpower planning for the cell to optimize all resources provided. Ensure set targets on quality and quantity are achieved as required by the customers.
Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Focusing on factory Operational efficiencies, OEE including measuring all processes and process inputs and outputs.
- Full use of the Production module in the ERP and generating required reports.
- Writing up all Production work instructions SOPs and document all non-conformities.
- Training all shop floor associates on Good manufacturing practices, SOPs and other systems.
- Accountable for efficiency, quality, safety and engagement of the team
- Liaising with relevant departments to look into Participate in all problem solving sessions where machines are involved.
- Learn the job, influence logistics, maintenance, to prioritize and design work for the team.
- Report any product non-conformities as a result of machine failure to the section supervisor, and isolate any affected product to prevent unintended use.
Systems audits.
- Coordinating with different departments in the company and working closely with other managers and supervisors to implement the company's policies and goals.
- Review report on manufacturing activities, performance, and results and initiating corrective action.
- Analysing production data, timely writing and reviewing of production reports
- Initiate programs/processes that will lead to improved product quality, less waste and overall efficiency.
- Proper supervision of staff, delegation of responsibilities and appropriate authority to operators and junior staff to achieve maximum efficiency through proper use of skills, man-hours, machines and equipment.
The normal education, training, core competencies and experience required for the position includes the following:
- A bachelor’s degree in food technology, science or engineering.
- Minimum 5 years working experience in a similar capacity in a related industry
- Must be familiar with modern methods of production planning and supervisory skill

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing the implementation of the departmental strategy while monitoring implementation in the scope areas in line with the production strategy, policies, processes and procedures achieve the institutions objectives.
- Ensuring proper production planning product wise and follow up weekly, daily and hourly production planning to meet customer expectation.
- Monitoring and following up stream production output to ensure maximum production efficiency is achieved.
- Planning and scheduling personnel and equipment to reduce bottle neck and process problems.
- Raise Material requisition based on product planned. Responsible talent management in the department including coaching, mentoring, developing, motivating, training and evaluating staff to achieve highest levels of performance.
- Generating and analyzing value stream performance measures. Identifying and matching skill matrix for employees during job allocation.
- Bench-marking and implementing best practices in manufacturing & other respective areas of work Implementing product quality, customer & Service Excellence and Change initiatives to achieve desired business plans and culture

The Production Manager provides overall direction and leadership for all facility and departmental activities associated with the processing, operations and holding out product in a safe, profitable and efficient manner while compliant with company goals and procedures. In addition, the production manager is responsible for planning,budgeting,employee recruitment, training, and development to support continuous improvement in a performance driven work place.
- Responsibilities Production planning and implementing the most efficient, reliable and cost effective production schedules and engineering processes to meet production requirements.
- Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly and sales orders and plan production/work orders/schedule and processes and ensure execution to meet production targets.
- Review orders progress and adjust production schedules as appropriate. Review and recommend modifications to production processes and operations to make sure that production output, standards and quality targets are achieved.
- Monitor and recommend necessary changes to the layout of plant, machinery and production processes and methods for any new equipment materials or components.
- Review production practices, methods, processes, equipment and facilities and make proposals for improvements to ensure that they are the most efficient and effective available. Spearhead for process improvement & productivity.
- Manages and supervises departments personnel activities Implementation of policies in order to achieve the departmental and company objectives
- Ensure the manufacturing of products or goods is conducted efficiently, safely and meets the organizations standards
Production Manager Job Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in (Industrial Chemistryl/Food Science/Mechanical/Electrical or comparable discipline).
- At least 10 years minimum experience as a Production Manager
- Knowledge of ISO Systems, Kaizen, Quality Systems and standard health and safety is preferred
- Results oriented and must uphold high levels of integrity
- Must have ability to train and excellent report writing skills
