    Mathematics / Chemistry Teacher

    Job Purpose

    St. Joseph Technical Secondary School seeks innovative and qualified Secondary School teachers.     3. Provides continual assessment of student progress, maintain student records is detail oriented when tracking students' grades and attendance, and completes assigned paperwork within the provided timeframes. 
    4. Identifies student's areas for improvement and is able to work with the student and family and internal resources to suggest options for improvement 
    5. Attends and participates in Academic meetings, Parent/Teacher Meetings, and other school-based meetings and activities 
    6. Work with the Principal, the Deputy principal, the Academic Dean and the colleague teachers to ensure teaching methods are directed towards meeting and surpassing the set standards 

    Experience, Education & Skills Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or a Diploma in Education, with a C+ in the teaching subjects. 
    • Must possess a Teachers Service Commission registration  
    • Solid knowledge in the teaching subjects.
    • Ability to analyse qualitative and quantitative student data 
    • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written forms
    • Must be computer literate

    Admin Secretary

    To provide assistance to the St. Joseph Development Programme Management team towards ensuring and facilitating program teams deliverables in an efficient and effective manner. Reporting to the Programme Manager, the incumbent will ensure smooth flow of documentations, communications and logistics of program teams. Manage the calendar of the Programme management teams and ensure an effective and sufficient link between the operations and the program teams.
     
    RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Support the Development Director in coordination of communication at the all levels and programmes of the organization.
    • Work with the various program offices towards organized filling system and database and ensure sharing of information on shared drives for program information and report.
    • Take lead in coordinating, preparing materials and linking with various operations departments to ensuring internal program meetings and workshops are a success.
    • Organize for all donor/media/VIP missions and in liaison with Programme Manager to ensure that the visitor’s accommodation and meals are catered for.
    • Attend all the PMT meetings, Program Coordination meetings and take minutes for the same.  
    • Advises school administrators on office procedures, layout, equipment, and staffing.
    • Participate in the budgeting preparation process
    • Performing routine clerical tasks including date stamping invoices, filling, typing, answering the phone calls, relaying messages, operating office machines, and opening, sorting and routing correspondence.
    • Performs secretarial duties including arranging appointments, maintaining and appointment calendar, receiving visitors, , dealing with incoming and outgoing post and mail, and composing communications from general instructions or rough notes
    • In collaboration with the project team, support scheduling and running of planned meetings. 
    • Provide logistical support to all the technical team leads on all planned activities.
    • Follow up with procurement and logistics teams on placing of program orders ensuring conferences, travel arrangements and staff accommodation are well planned and information provided to focal program teams.
    • Ensure timely and accurate submission of travel requests by program teams to the finance department, follow up with finance to have funds released in time.
    Qualifications:
    • At least a certificate in Administration or related field from a recognized university.
    • Proven work experience as an admin secretary.

    MEAL Coordinator

    JOB DESCRIPTION
     
    This position reports to the Programme Manager and works with the respective team leads and is responsible for ensuring the effective design and implementation of the M&E Strategy for the SJDP Programmes (Upendo, Uzima and Technical Secondary School) that is in line with St. Joseph Development Programmes policies and practices. He/she will focus on the development of M&E framework, plan and activity setting for appropriate monitoring and evaluation requirements for SJDP Programmes, and will assume overall responsibility for M&E related data collection, collation, analysis and reporting (internal and external).
     
    The MEAL Coordinator ensures that objective evaluations are managed to assess the SJDP programmes and project relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, impact, and sustainability of results and that evaluations are carried out in a credible and systematic manner with lessons and recommendations used for programme/project design. This position also manages thematic projects as requested.

    Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated experience with designing logical frameworks/ theory of change (TOC), designing M&E systems, and outcome measurement using qualitative and quantitative approaches;
    • Experience in designing and writing reports and proposals for donors;
    • Experience in rendering M&E results using different media/ICT4D tools.
    • Excellent communication, training/facilitation skills, preferably in data collection methods and tools, and M&E;
    • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills;
    • Advanced computer skills including the use of statistical analysis software (SPSS, STATA, Excel);
    • Fluent in oral and written English and excellent writing skills;
    • Ability to work in a challenging environment, under high pressure and ability to cope with tight deadlines;

    Programme Coordinator (Uzima Programme)

    JOB DESCRIPTION
     
    We are looking for a responsible Programme Coordinator to administer and organize multiple projects as per St. Joseph Development Programme policies. The Programme Coordinator will report directly to the Programme Manager. The   responsibilities include working closely with our 2 Project officers (Positive Action Children Fund-SGBV Project & Manos Unidas-Livelihood project) to prepare comprehensive action plans, including resources, timeframes and budgets for projects. 
    He/she will perform various coordinating tasks, like schedule and risk management, along with administrative duties, like maintaining project documentation and handling financial queries. To succeed in this role, one should have excellent Programme management, Monitoring and Evaluation and communication skills as well as experience in working with persons living in urban informal settlements.
     
    PROGRAMME CO-ORDINATOR RESPONSIBILITIES
     
    Programme Management 
    1. Coordinate day-to-day programme management activities, resources and information to ensure ownership of the projects by project officers and staff.
    2. Support project officers to implement project activities effectively, in line with donor contracts, work plans and budgets, coordinating implementation of all project activities
    3. Closely monitor implementation of project activities, including financial expenditures; identify problems in project implementation and report to Programme Manager and Director at the earliest possible moment
    4. Liaise with members of the finance team to ensure that all financial reports are reviewed and signed off in a timely manner.
    5. Breakdown projects into doable actions and set timeframes liaising with project officers to identify and define requirements, scope and objectives.
    6. Undertake Reviews of all Program Requisitions regarding project expenditure
    7. Participate and Provide guidance regarding the enrolment of new clients targeted by the projects. 
    8. Help prepare project budgets and support in tracking budget utilization
    Networking, advocacy and communications:
    1. Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to the programme beneficiaries, staff and director
    2. Ensure timely management of multiple lines of communication between Project officers, beneficiaries, staff, management and relaying pertinent information to appropriate parties
    3. Represent Uzima Programme in relevant assessments, forums and networks
    4. Maintain relationships with donor agencies, partners and community groups 
    5. Promote and strengthen partnership with local government
    6. Provide material for SJDPs Communications, Campaigns and Fundraising as required. 
    Organizational Policies
    1. Guiding team members on the policies, practices and safeguards to be adhered to when dealing with children and adolescents in the course of gathering information on women empowerment and the giving of informed consent in such cases
    2. Co-ordinate project planning, development and participate proposal development.
    Programme Evaluation and Development:
    • On-going analysis of issues relating to GBV, HIV and women’s rights in, Nairobi County, Kenya and global developments within the field.  
    • Provide technical inputs required by the MEAL Coordinator in designing tools to monitor project implementation, processing and delivery
    • Receive, reviewing of all field reports and create comprehensive donor reports 
    • Monitor project progress and handle any issues that arise
    • Ensure standards and quality requirements are met through constant improvement in project interventions and support Quality Improvement Plans
    • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports
    • Completion of the Annual Programme Review process, incorporating clear evidence of progress and challenges and adhering to internal and external reporting requirements. 
    • Ensuring that learning from the evaluation process is explicitly incorporated into future project implementation. 
    Required Qualifications / Abilities
    • At least 3 years of documented Programme management experience
    • University Degree, preferably degree in Sociology, Social Work, Community Development, Project Management or other relevant social sciences.
    • Hands on Experience in Gender and HIV programming
    • Ability to interact effectively 
    • Ability to work within strict deadlines.
    • Be of high moral standing and personal integrity.
    • Demonstrated team player with effective cross-cultural interpersonal skills.
    • Strong people and performance management skills and experience.
    • Excellent problem-solving, technical, managerial, and financial analysis skills and a focus on producing efficient, reliable, and cost-effective data solutions as an individual or as part of a team.
    • Ability to multi-task.
    • Excellent knowledge of relevant MS Office packages necessary for day-to-day work.
