Qualifications and Requirements:
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-
(i) served for a minimum period of three (3) years in the grade of Assistant Chief Pharmacist, Job Group ‘ P’;
(ii) a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from a university recognized in Kenya;
(iii) a Masters degree in Pharmacy or comparable and relevant qualifications from a university recognized in Kenya;
(iv) been registered with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Kenya;
(v) a valid practicing license from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Kenya;
(vi) attended a Strategic Leadership course in a recognized institution;
(vii) be conversant with the drug laws and Government policy on drugs manufacture, quality control and general control of drugs in the country; and
(viii) professional competence in the management of pharmaceutical services.
Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities Specific duties and responsibilities include;-
(i) implementing and reviewing policies and guidelines on drug management;
(ii) coordinating management of pharmaceutical services;
(iii) advising on proper maintenance and improvement of pharmaceutical services and development;
(iv) providing standards for organization and maintenance of pharmaceutical services in hospitals; and
(v) developing and deploying Pharmacists and Pharmaceutical Technologists in National Government health facilities.
