Requirements for the Chief Internal Auditor Job

• Developing annual audit plan;
• Preparing documents for use in the Audit and Compliance Committee;
• Undertaking special audit investigations as may be required from time to time;
• Facilitating risk management exercises and ensures implementation of risk management frame work;
• Interpretation of Authority’s policies for sound audit planning;
• Coordinating responses to management letters from the external auditors in liaison with the Manager, Internal Audit;
• Following up of implementation Public Investment Committee (PIC) recommendations;
• Supervising staff as a delegated responsibility by the Manager Internal Audit

Chief Internal Auditor Job Requirements

• Have a Master’s degree in the following discipline: MBA-Finance or Accounting option, MSc. Finance or Accounting option or any other related field from a recognized institution;
• Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, or Business Management (Finance or Accounting option) or any other related field from a recognized institution;
• Be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) /Certified Internal Auditors (CIA) Finalist or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
• Have at least seven (7) years’ relevant work experience. The seven (7) years relevant work experience in a State Owned Organization will be an added advantage;
• Be a registered member of ICPAK in good standing;
• Have attended a Senior Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized Institution;
• Be Proficient in Computerized Accounting/ Auditing skills;
• Meet the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya
