    Adherence and Retention Officer (6 Months)

    Overall Job Function

    Responsible for providing technical support in the planning, implementation and evaluation of adherence support activities required for HIV prevention, care and treatment services within CHS supported facilities in coordination with the Ministry of Health (MoH).

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Overseeing planning, initiation and implementation of the CHS Adherence Psychosocial Support minimum package at CHS-supported facilities.
    2. Participating in the development of APSC tools to be used for documentation and as job aids in health facilities.
    3. Identifying training needs, planning, facilitating, and taking part in training of health care workers and other stakeholders on adherence and psychosocial support and PwP using national training curricula.
    4. Supporting planning, implementation and evaluation of defaulter identification and tracking systems at supported health facilities.
    5. Ensuring meaningful involvement of peer educators and mentor mothers in APSC activities.
    6. In liaison with the Ministry of Health, participate in activities that lead to strengthened linkages between the health facility and the community.
    7. Providing technical assistance to health care workers and other stakeholders in the implementation of the CHS community support model.
    8. Providing technical assistance in psychosocial activities targeting health care workers living with HIV.
    9. Supporting planning, implementation and evaluation of Prevention with Positives (PwP) activities at facilities.
    10. Implementing evidence-based techniques and strategies to ensure quality programming in adherence and psychosocial and prevention activities under direction from the APSC Advisor.
    11. Identifying, documenting and sharing key lessons learnt on adherence and psychosocial support from health facilities and the community.

    Person Specification

    • Degree in Social Sciences or equivalent
    • Minimum of three years working experience
    • Familiarity with the Kenyan health system
    • Familiarity with HIV community programs including peer education
