Requirements for appointment
• Must have a diploma in clinical medicine and surgery
• Must have undergone internship for one year in a recognized government hospital
• Must have valid practicing license
• Must be registered with clinical officers’ council
• Must have a higher national diploma in reproductive health from any recognized institution
• Must have done 6 months internship in any recognized institution after HND training
Duties and responsibilities
• Seeing and examining patients
• Ordering investigations and interpreting results
• Diagnosing and management of patients in out- patient and in- patient
• Appropriate referral and pre-referral treatment; and follow up
• Periodic self – assessment
• Supervising students in the department
• Supervising CO-interns
• Carry out other relevant duties as may be required by your supervisor
