Medical Officer Job Role

• Coordinating and controlling provision of Medical services to patients in the University;
• Coordinating and controlling provision of both formal and informal training to health personnel working under him/her;
• Participation in the formulation of policy for operation and development of Health Services;
• Organization and management of framework of Health delivery system;
• Implementation of specific projects and programmes related to various areas of Health care;
• Participate in overall planning of health services in the University;
• Participate in planning and management of Health Care Programmes directed towards health services in the University;
• Reviewing and commending management modality of patients referred by junior officers;
• Conducting clinics on regular basis for follow up of patients with chronic medical conditions and any other patient deserved to be requiring regular review;
• Participating in Health Education of patients and community around;
• Conducting regular ward rounds with a view of assessing the improvement or lack of it in in-patients and to make appropriate recommendations in the management’s of in-patients;
• Performing any other task relevant to his profession as may be required.

Medical Officer Job Requirements

• MB.Ch.B.
• Three (3) Years experience in a busy clinical/medical post.
• Should be registered with Medical & Dentists Practitioners Board.
• Must be computer literate.
