    Monitoring & Evaluation Coordinator

    The Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator (M&E Co.) has the overall responsibility for program monitoring, evaluation, and learning for IMC’s activities in Somalia. S/he reports directly to the Program Director, & supervises data managers/clerks/officers.

    Responsibilities for the Monitoring & Evaluation Coordinator Job

    • Develop, refine, & maintain a contextually appropriate M&E system, including tools & staff training; strengthen internal capacity for the timely collection, interpretation, and utilization of program data for informed decision-making.
    • Contribute substantively to project design/modification and proposal development, including development of appropriate and realistic M&E plans.
    • Develop processes and procedures that encourage knowledge-sharing and learning across IMC Somalia projects; ensure that learning is reflected in design of new programming.
    • Identify & pursue opportunities to strengthen accountability to affected populations.
    • Conduct frequent visits to IMC project sites in Somalia to provide training and direct supportive supervision on monitoring, evaluation, and learning to field staff.
    • Coordinate the design and implementation of multi-sector assessments, surveys, investigations, analyses, etc. to inform decision making for current/future programming.
    • Serve as the point person for third-party-monitoring of IMC activities in Somalia.
    • Manage performance and provide direct supportive supervision to M&E managers, data managers/officers/clerks; address identified gaps in knowledge/skills through on-the-job training and supportive supervision.
    • Promote a working environment that values attention to detail, accuracy in data collection/reporting, learning, and accountability.
    • Contribute to maintaining a positive work environment, characterized by mutual respect, honesty, dedication to excellence, & accountability to all stakeholders
    • Perform additional tasks as assigned by direct supervisor.

    Monitoring & Evaluation Coordinator Job Qualifications

    • University degree in M&E, public health, humanitarian assistance, international development, or related field.
    • Five to Seven years relevant & progressive professional experience in M&E.
    • Demonstrated capacity to think critically, proactively address complex problems, prioritize work with minimal supervision, and articulate ideas, concepts, and feedback clearly & concisely in written and spoken English; excellent attention to detail.
    • Demonstrated excellent computer skills and use of statistical analysis software
    • Fluency in English is required; working knowledge of Somali an advantage.
    • This is a national position for Kenyan Nationals ONLY
