Accountant at The Wealthsmith Limited

Reporting To:  Chief Operations Officer

Accountant Job Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including:

1. month and end-year process
2. verify accounts payable/receivable
3. general ledger
4. payroll and utilities
5. budgeting
6. cash forecasting
7. revenue and expenditure variance analysis
8. capital assets reconciliations
9. bank account statement reconciliations,
10. check runs
11. fixed asset activity
12. debt activity

• Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
• Coordinate and complete annual audits
• Provide recommendations
• Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
• Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
• Meet financial accounting objectives
• Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transaction

Qualifications for the Accountant Job

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance
• CPA (K)
• 3 years’ work experience in the field of accounts.
• Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast -pace setting.
• Must be familiar with various accounting systems
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong supervisory skills required.
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
