Someone that can take oversight on all Enviu activities in East Africa, as well as build the local team and grow local partnerships.

We work together with a large group of entrepreneurial people, professionals, companies and universities.

The East Africa Office

The core purpose of Enviu’s East Africa office in Kenya is to initiate, validate and scale Enviu’s social ventures, and to scout for other social ventures that show potential for scaling in East Africa. In addition, the office performs activities that are required for these ventures to succeed. I.e. building public-private partnerships to build infrastructure and knowledge, work on regulation updates and train and educate future customers. The East Africa Enviu team will provide local African context to the domains Enviu operates in: Financial Inclusion, Circular Economy and Food security.

About your role

You will:

• Be responsible for building Enviu’s East Africa office, and have oversight over local venture building and program activities, ventures and partnerships
  Do sound management of complex, long-term, multi-stakeholder projects
• Act as a business partner to the entrepreneurs of the potentially world changing companies
  Be responsible for managing and developing the team of venture builders in East Africa
  Scout and select entrepreneurial managers and business ideas
• Acquire partners, commercial leads, launching customers, investors
• Be an active member of Enviu’s Global Management Team
• Analyze and control costs, revenue and margins of the East Africa operations

Profile

We are looking for a devoted person who has:

• A background in Entrepreneurship, impact investment or in management of a professional services company
  A proven track record of >15 years relevant experience, of which at least 3 years in the social business sector
  > 10 years of work experience in East Africa, preferably Kenya
• Led teams of 10+ staff members
• A Master degree
• A successful track record in complex, long-term, multi-stakeholder project management
  Experience in building partnerships with commercial partners worldwide (investors, corporates, foundations, NGO, Government)

And ideally:

Launched one or more companies in the impact sector themselves, or have been member of the leadership team of such a company
Have a deep knowledge and track record in one of our domains, Financial Inclusion, Circularity or Food systems
