Responsible for: Ensure compliance of financial transactions to approved financial policies, procedures and control systems
Key Tasks
Participate in formulating and implementing sound financial accounting policies, procedures, strategies and systems that ensure effective control and accountability of the Authority’s resources
Prepare timely and accurate financial reports
Review the general ledger on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy of posting
Implement recommendations to improve accounting processes and procedures
Prompt filing of statutory returns
Coordinate payment of suppliers in accordance with the Authority’s policies and procedures
Prepare cash flow statements
Prepare Board papers on financial matters
Facilitate the budget preparation exercise through collating of information from various functional areas and onward input into the system
Ensure safe custody of the Authority’s financial records including maintenance of a fixed assets register
Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Key Performance Measures
Knowledge, experience and qualifications required
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce/Accounting or related field
CPA (K), ACCA or equivalent professional certificate
