Technical Project Manager at Digital Divide Data (DDD Kenya)

POSITION PURPOSE

The TPM is responsible for planning, executing and finalizing solutions related to AWS cloud development, hosting, and implementation tasks (schedule, quality, cost, risk) across the life-cycle of DDD’s cloud managed services, Project Services and R&D to include managing the work of Cloud associates and vendors.

DDD Cloud Solutions Service is our newest service line and it is growing rapidly. DDD helps clients manage and optimize their cloud environments - from initial design through migration, build, deployment, and ongoing management and maintenance.    

The TPM is a client-facing position with people management and P&L ownership of assigned projects. This position plays an essential role managing and overseeing that all projects are delivered and interfacing with new products/technology ensuring all deliverables adhere to customer requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Own financial and people performance of projects
• Provides project and people management of assigned AWS cloud hosting/implementation project or tasks
• Develops and manages projects to track the onboarding of new AWS cloud adopters/clients and the progress and status of projects for current AWS users.
• Conducts planning and provides recommendations to client on task workload.
• Develops AWS project plans, proposals, reports, and task order and administrative reporting on projects and AWS services portfolio offered by DDD.
• Work closely with SysOps admins, Devops & solution development team to remediate codes, build infrastructure, technical projects
• Track project status on daily basis and work towards meeting the defined deliverable dates
• Coordinates development of deliverables and products.
• Ensures quality assurance of AWS project deliverables.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 5+ years of Project management experience.
• Agile methodology experience practices, particularly sprint planning and assessment is an advantage.
• Prior experience leading software development, systems integration, or IT operations activities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, consultation and organizational skills.
• Experience of deploying Cloud Services and SaaS products with custom API and integrations.
• Outstanding negotiation, facilitation, and consensus building skills.
• Experience with cloud computing AWS a plus
• Certifications such as Lean Six Sigma, PMP a plus
• Great people management skill
• Other Skills that will help (Usage of Helpdesk Asana, JIRA, Trello, AWS, Incident Management, documentations)
