Radio Network Planning and Optimization Engineer at Adrian Kenya Limited

Reporting to the Project Manager, Radio Network Planning & Optimization, Job holder will carry out 2G/3G/4G network capacity planning RF Planning, RF Design and Deployment of new technologies (Wi-Fi, IoT, Cloud RAN, 5G among others). The Job holder will also continuously monitor the 2G/3G/4G capacity KPIs using network planning tools and issue both short term and long term remedial plans. The job also entails radio network project management and coordination.

Detailed Description:

• Radio Network Capacity Planning and Optimization: Monitor 2G/3G/4G resources utilization i.e. Code, Power, IUB and CE utilization. Analyze traffic trends,HR thresholds, redistribute capacity, and manage Abis capacity and SDCCH/TCH congestion to guarantee capacity
• Plan new capacity sites, Release of nominal plans, redesigns and integration parameters
• RF-Design and RF Planning based on commercial and technical analytics
• Standardization of all BSS parameters and maintain standards parameter rules on all radio database parameters;
• Identify potential bottlenecks in the end to end network and collaboratively escalate to Transport, Core, Support and maintenance teams
• Manage and coordinate assigned 2G/3G/4Gnetwork projects: Ensure project timelines and standards are met. Ensure all project reports and documentation are complete and timely

Education and Experience Required

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Telecommunication Engineering, with an emphasis in Radio communications
• Experience in telecommunication with a minimum of 1 year of 2G/3G hands on experience in Radio Network planning
• Knowledge in traffic modelling and capacity dimensioning, forecasting and management .Knowledge in tele-traffic Engineering is a plus
• Practical knowledge on use of radio planning tool, capacity planning tools and nominal cell planning
• Candidates with experience in Nokia and/or Huawei equipment will have an added advantage
• A team player with excellent problem solving skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent trouble shooting and problem solving skills
