Job Introduction
We are looking for a Digital journalist with excellent written and spoken Kirundi and English to join the team in Nairobi.
Role Responsibility
You will create digital content in multiple formats such as audio, video and test and will promote our digital content on the BBC Great Lakes websites and social media platforms.
You will produce accurate, informed and interesting original content and will also reversion and edit existing stories for an ever-growing digital audience.
The Ideal Candidate
You will be an experienced digital journalist with a passion for social media and online news. You will have a track record of producing quality content, with proven editorial judgement and the ability to create content which informs, educates and entertains. Additional training will be provided.
It is essential that candidates are fluent in Kirundi and English, both written and spoken. Some knowledge of the French language is desirable but not essential.
Finally, you will have an interest and in the developments in the digital market in the Great Lakes area, in East Africa, in Africa and the world.
