    Hiv Specialist - Medical Doctor

    The project is seeking to fill a second position for a Medical Doctor HIV specialist to lead Continuous Quality Improvement.

    This is a senior clinical technical position responsible for ensuring the provision of quality comprehensive HIV care and treatment services to all clients and continuous performance improvement within the assigned project sites.

    The position reports directly to the Project Senior Technical Advisor and is responsible for supervising medical officers and other technical project officers.

    Location: This position is based at CHAK Head Office in Nairobi but will involve frequent travel to the field project sites

    Academic and professional qualifications

    • Degree in Medicine (Medical Doctor) from a reputable University.
    • A Master’s degree in Public Health or related field
    • Medical License from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board
    • At least 3 years’ clinical experience in HIV management at program level
    • Project management experience will be an added advantage

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct routine performance review at program level with the aim of identifying performance gaps and best practices
    • Develop continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives aimed at overall program performance improvement through application of CQI models developed in line with the Kenya Quality Model for Health and the Kenya HIV Quality Improvement Framework of the MOH
    • Provide capacity building and technical support on performance improvement to the project component technical leads in HTS ( HIV Testing Services), PMTCT (Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission), Treatment Adherence Support, GBV (Gender based Violence), OVC ( Orphans and Vulnerable Children) and supply chain management in both laboratory and pharmaceutical commodities
    • Coordinate the implementation and documentation of quality improvement initiatives and outcomes within the project
    • Ensure timely preparation of work plans and technical project performance reports and participate in the monthly project performance review meetings
    • Represent CHAP Uzima in stakeholder meetings at national and county level
