Group Management Accountant at Koko Networks

What You Will Do

• Continuously optimize of management reporting systems to accommodate, support, and anticipate the needs of a fast moving, nimble organization with rapidly expanding operations (in terms of scale and scope)
• Prepare analyses and presentations of financial data for regular management and board reporting
• Manage day-to-day budgeting, planning, and controlling processes for KOKO's group-wide activities, which include the management of an agent network, B2B, and B2C retail platforms and associated value chains
• Liaise with software teams to improve bespoke financial accounting and reporting modules and automate processes
• Oversee other staff members in the accounting department and work with group-wide finance team for consolidated reporting
• Verify payroll for salary processing
• Approve purchase orders in line with authorized departmental budgets
• Coordinate annual audit for the subsidiaries within the group and the consolidated financials
• Introduce and implement best practice internal controls across the organization

What You Will Bring To KOKO

• Solid academic record including university degree and excellent secondary education credentials
• 7+ years of full time work experience in a leading accounting firm, or accounting department of a financial institution or corporation, preferably in a Kenyan / East African or similar EM context with international exposure (specifically to import/export activities involving India and China based partners)
  Internationally recognized, accredited accounting qualification, ideally with a combination of financial (eg, CPA, ACCA) and management (eg, CIMA) certifications
• Proficiency with IFRS accounting and cross-jurisdictional consolidation
• Self-starting, hands-on and flexible approach to working within a highly motivated team in a dynamic and demanding environment
• Experience within at least one of startup, e-commerce and SME environments highly beneficial
