JOB PURPOSE
The primary function of this role is to ensure that the telecommunications and IT networks of airtel are secured at the technology level, end point elements, deployment and ongoing operations.
The role shall focus holistically on network security risks by covering strategic, technology, platform and continuity risks. The role must develop/enhance and implement security policies, practices, architecture and provide specialist technical advice for securing the Airtel network technologies, elements, systems, platforms, VAS and network technologies. Such developments shall be in line with its strategic business directions, industry standards and emerging threat landscape including security threats through multiple channels
Responsible for Planning/designing/Maintenance of CS Core/IMS/VoLTE networks, solutions proposal designing and delivering of IMS/Core services in all the OpCos as well as managing the AoPs, Planning & implementing upgrades with the vendors.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Develop and implement risk based network security framework for all aspects of networks
- Embed security as a core process in the network domain
- Handle Airtel Money security through process and technical controls
- Manage stakeholders through influence and acceptance derived through subject matter expertise on both network and security domains rather than relying on authority and mandate
- Create strategies to secure the operations , administration , maintenance and provisioning of network elements, platforms and mediation platform
- Create security baseline and monitor and deviations to the baselines for network elements and mediation devices
- Ensuring Compliance requirements mandated in the licensing condition are met with
COMPETENCIES
- The incumbent must be a core telecommunication technologist with deep understanding of IP, Telecom networks, network technologies
- Excellent knowledge of network security frameworks such as ITU-T X.805, ITU-T X.1051, ITU-T E.409, ITU-T E.408
- Multi Cycle Design/Architecture experience in telecommunication networks. (Experience in LAN Zoning and Firewalls will not suffice)
- Experience in designing and implementing security strategies at Telcos or large corporations to mitigate: Service denial or disruption, Unauthorized monitoring and disclosure of sensitive information, Unauthorized modification of user or network information and network services, Revenue and Network fraud
- Multi-cycle experience on two or more of the following areas obtained from large organization: Networking technologies such as MPLS, MSC, LTE, MPBN, Network Products and Service development, Switching, Transmission, IP Networks, ISP Operations, Network Surveillance and Forensics
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Must have 6 to 8 years relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- CISSP/CEH/CISM Certification
- Good grasp of security domain (at the very minimum a good understanding of emerging security threat landscape and available defense tools and techniques).
