    News Manager (Humanitarian & Regions)

    Location: Nairobi-Preferred, other locations in the Global South where Oxfam has an Office may be considered (subject to being able to establish a contract of employment with a hosting affiliate).

    Contract: open-ended (subject to being able to establish an open-ended contract of employment)

    Salary: in line with Oxfam Values & subject to location

    The Role

    Oxfam International Secretariat is looking for a News Manager to join its eight-person Media and Communications team. The role will provide strategic co-leadership and delivery of media content across Oxfam’s global confederation, specializing in Oxfam’s humanitarian work including around our “Rights in Crisis” campaign. It will also focus hard on growing the effectiveness of Oxfam’s seven regional media teams.

    Our next OI News Manager (Humanitarian and Regions) will: have a successful track-record in media and communications work; possess a great knowledge of civil society and experience of humanitarian response work generally; be strategically smart, a fabulous writer with excellent news judgement; be a self-starting team-builder, with top interpersonal and negotiating skills.
