    Agri Finance Policy Advisor STTA

    Details:

    Palladium seeks an Agri Finance Policy Advisor to help prepare for, plan, and facilitate a multi-stakeholder pre-conference workshop in advance of the Kenya Agri Policy Conference. The pre-conference workshop will seek to outline a multi-stakeholder backed framework to be presented to policy makers. The Workshop will equally agree on the structure of the conference and will propose any other policy interventions to be presented at the conference.

    The Agri Finance Policy Advisor will:

    • Prepare a detailed pre-workshop report that covers the following:
    • A summary review of current Agricultural finance policies (gaps, ongoing work, bills of Parliament, Etc).
    • Mapping of stakeholders in the Agricultural finance Policy space.
    • Major policy initiatives currently being pursued by various stakeholders at the county and national levels as well as a status summary for each.
    • A review of financial landscape studies and assessments already undertaken by key stakeholders.
    • Deliver a presentation of the above report at the stakeholders’ workshop to take place in Nairobi on a date to be determined.
    • Facilitate the proceedings at the pre-conference workshop (to be recorded) and deliver a final report on workshop outcomes, in preparation for the Kenya Agri Finance Policy Conference.  

    Level of Effort: Up to 10 days of LOE (including pre-conference workshop dates)
    Travel: The assignment will require travel within Kenya.  

    • A local Kenyan national is desired for this activity.
    • Evidence of an excellent understanding of agricultural finance policies in Kenya.
    • Significant knowledge and experience of best practice in agricultural financing policies, minimum five years’ experience.
    • A minimum of five years of experience in organizational/institutional assessment with significant focus on policy development and implementation process.
    • Strong ability for verbal communication, with demonstrated experience in facilitating and delivering presentations in a workshop setting.
    • Strong written and analytical skills, with experience writing reports and detailed assessments
    • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and policy makers, at the County and National level in Kenya, will be an added advantage.
