    Store Manager

    Your Profile

    We are looking for a fearless, customer-focused leader with relevant experience managing a dynamic store within the retail industry. You should be self-motivated and able to manage multiple aspects of the business as if it was your own. Sales-oriented, organised and tenacious, you are a problem-solver, able to work well under pressure and adapt to change. You should possess a proven ability to lead and build high-performing teams, and have the flexibility to work during the peak retail hours of nights, weekends and holidays.

    Key Responsibilities

    As the Store Manager, you are the senior member of the store leadership team. Your actions set the tone for the entire organization, and by handling any client, brand or team member issue effectively and fairly, you are leading by example. In addition to demonstrating maniacal customer service, you will:

    • Plan, apply and monitor the required measures in order to reach and exceed sales targets
    • Analyse and review key retail performance indicators, in order to improve them
    • Institute and collaborate in the implementation of merchandising standards, and optimise selling space in order to obtain maximum profitability
    • Collect, control and manage the stock to maximise sales and prevent losses
    • Promote effective communication within the team, ensuring timely feedback for improvement is delivered and followed up on
    • Train, and ensure the seamless integration and development of new employees
    • Lead and motivate the team, ensuring the development of staff potential
    • Plan, organise, prioritise and distribute tasks, optimising resources and minimising costs, demonstrating a strong understanding of the store’s sales performance, staffing and payroll, as well as all other controllable expenses within the store

    Job requirements

    • At least 2 years of business experience in retail, sales, marketing, or general management.
    • Knowledge of retail finance e.g. margins, cost of sales, markdowns versus markups.
    • Knowledge of global retail standards.
    • Flexible availability to work during peak retail hours, such as nights, weekends, and holidays.
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 kilograms and bend/stretch to stock shelves.
    • Ability to stand and walk the shop floor for an entire shift.
