Financial Advisory Services Internship at One Acre Fund

The Finance Advisory Services (FAS) team – akin to a country CFOs – leads our strategic finance strategy and provides an analytical perspective on all major decisions (enrollment, pricing, incentives, org-structure, etc).  This consulting team provides concise, actionable advice around how to best achieve the country’s scale and impact goals in the most financially efficient way. The FAS goal is complete financial sustainability.

The FAS team is looking for an intern to support with conducting monthly Budget Variance Analysis and suggest cost efficiencies. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Support with conducting monthly Budget Variance Analysis by working with department heads to analyse their BVA’s and provide recommendations.
• Dive into the Field Operation’s department cost efficiencies and suggest improvements.
• Working with the team in isolating and tracking restricted donoe money spending.

Qualifications

We are seeking an exceptional, early career professional with 0-1 years of experience in finance. Candidates fitting the following profile are strongly encouraged to apply:

• Citizenship in Kenya – you will be asked to submit a copy of your passport biodata page or your national ID card
• Exceptional recent college graduate or young professional in Commerce, Business Management, economics or statistics.
• Some work experience in finance preferred
• Proficient in excel skills
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
• Leadership experience at work, school clubs, volunteer organizations etc.
• Strong interest in One Acre Fund’s work serving smallholder farmers
• Strong desire for personal and professional growth
• Flexibility and a willingness to take on varied tasks
• Ability to work both independently and part of a team
• Fluent in English and Kiswahili
