Qualifications

This is a temporary/short term position available for three (3) to six (6) months

Academic qualification

• Applicants must have a Diploma in Electronics and Instrumentation or Electronics and Telecommunication, or Mechanical Engineering, or related fields. from a recognized institution.

Experience

Applicants must:

• Have a minimum of two (2) years relevant practical working experience with proven integrity, independence, innovativeness and compliance to deadlines.

Skills

Applicants should demonstrate ability to.

• Supervisory and managerial skills
• Strong technical ability in the relevant field
• Problem solving through a system’s approach
• Data and procedure analysis
• Computer literacy

Responsibilities

• Reading related field blueprints and performing job lay outs.
• Practicing safe working habits.
• Preparing reports pertaining to repairs and scheduled maintenance and other tasks.
• Assisting in maintaining and undertaking minor repairs of lab equipment.
• Assisting in maintaining an updated inventory of consumables and non-consumables in the areas of jurisdiction
• Assisting in preparation of budget materials for teaching materials
• Assisting in ensuring that the area of jurisdiction is secure and available whenever necessary
• Assisting in conducting student practical at postgraduate and undergraduate levels
• Supporting departmental innovations, research and income generating activities
• Any other duty assigned by the immediate supervisor
