Coffey has two exciting positions of drivers in the REINVENT programme.
2 year’s contract
Mombasa and Isiolo, Kenya

The Position

Reporting to the Regional Technical Lead, the driver provide a safe and secure transportation of programme staff and materials as and when required, in conformity with the laws of Kenya and with due regard to the comfort and convenience of passengers and other road users.

 The Driver will be responsible for the following tasks:

• To carefully check any assigned vehicle prior to a journey and regularly in the course of its use, for safety and reliability, including checking tyres (condition and pressure), fuel, oil, water and fluid levels, functioning of brakes, lights, horn, indicators, etc. and reporting any faults as necessary
• Ensure that vehicles are kept in a clean condition, inside and outside
• Ensure safety and good condition of the vehicle(s)
• Transport designated staff or partners to and from official duties, as instructed
• Collect and receive identified official visitors
• Ensure that the safety and security of all passengers
• Ensure that no unauthorized passengers are transported at any time
• When driving, keep the comfort and safety of passengers in mind, and pay due care and attention to the safety and convenience of other road-users, including pedestrians
• Always observe speed restrictions, obey all road-signs and directions of traffic police
• Never use a mobile-phone while driving
• Maintain an accurate vehicle log book, record of journeys, fuel and lubricants
• Ensure that all necessary documentation is present in the vehicle for inspection
• Load, transport and unload equipment, goods and other materials as required
• Carry out any administrative functions that can be conveniently combined with driving duties, for example collecting and delivering mail, conveying messages, collecting and topping-up generator fuel, etc.
• 5 years and above in driving experience should fit the role and a holder of a class BCE in driving classes.
• Training on defensive driving not required but an added advantage
• Any other duties assigned by the Procurement and Operations Manager
