Manage accounts payable functions, including processing and monitoring vendor payments and reconciling accounts
Matching revenue to payment points for the various product revenue categories
Ensure timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions in compliance with accounting standards and regulations and monthly reconciliation of bank and MPESA accounts
Update weekly and monthly inflows and outflows records and provide updates
Prepare and file tax returns and statutory deductions and payments
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
Maintain a fixed asset registry and perform impairment, and pass journals for the same on Quickbooks
Conduct monthly and annual financial analyses, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and forecasting
Participate in internal and external audits and provide support for external auditors
Participate in stock checks and reconciliation with Warehouse Manager
Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
Spot errors and suggest ways to continuously improve efficiency and spending
Provide technical support and advice to the Management Accountant
The profile we're likely to hire:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Business Administration, Finance or Accounting
Professional Accounting Qualification (CPA (K) or ACCA)
At least 4 years of experience in Finance/Accounting, with at least 2 years of handling accounts receivables
Experience using Quickbooks and other Accounting software, and a good understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and their applications
Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and prioritize key initiatives and opportunities
Able to demonstrate initiative and ownership of assignments and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence others
High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to effectively and efficiently handle a variety of responsibilities
An individual who exemplifies integrity and honesty
Experience in the e-commerce, retail, FMCG sectors would be an added advantag
