    Accounts Assistant - 2 Posts

    NKPCU/HRM/1 5 /202 4

    • Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
    • Basic Salary: Kshs. 47,714 (Minimum) – Kshs. 69,326 (maximum)
    • Other remunerations: Based on prevailing Government guidelines
    • Reporting to Senior Accountant Assistant

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Providing already achieved vouchers within the department to prevent the loss of documents by ensuring all retrieved documents are returned promptly;
    • Preparing payment vouchers, imprests, and committal documents in accordance with laid down financial rules and regulations;
    • Capturing data and maintaining primary records such as cashbooks, ledgers, vote books, registers, and preparation of simple management reports;
    • Receiving duly processed payments and receipt vouchers for filing in accordance with ISO standards;
    • Receiving, recording, and sorting documents delivered in the department for processing;
    • Balancing and ruling of the cash books on a daily basis to ensure accuracy and correctness of financial data;
    • Updating the revenue collection register;
    • Drafting and updating the cash liquidity analysis;
    • Archiving and filing of all finance documents;
    • Maintaining individual ledgers for CCARF advances and recoveries;
    • Preparing monthly expenditure returns; and
    • Calculating and valuation of CCARF to be advanced to farmers.

    Requirements:

    • Diploma in any of the following disciplines: - Commerce (Accounting Option), Business Administration (Accounting Option), Business Management (Accounting or Finance Option), or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    • Certified Public Accountant II (CPA II) by Kenya Accountants and Secretaries Examination Board (KASNEB) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    • Proficiency in Computer applications;
    • National Police Clearance Certificate.
    • An applicant with at least two (2) years of working experience in the accounting field will have an added advantage.
