Job Purpose​​​​​​​

The accountants are responsible for planning, organizing, controlling, coordinating and implementing financial and accounting functions in the Agency. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer.

Job Specifications

Duties and responsibilities at this level entail:

• Assisting in the collection of revenue;
• Assisting in compiling data on payments made by the Institution;
• Assisting in computing asset depreciation and verifying balances on each account;
• Participating in organizing approval of payment documents, allocation of funds for the payments, and effecting the payments;
• Dispatching cheques;
• Managing the petty cash;
• Keeping custody of accounting documents; and
• Filing accounting documents.

Persons Specifications​​​​​​​

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

• Cumulative service period of three (3) years’ work experience in the grade of Accounts Assistant III or in a comparable;
• Kenya Accountants Technician Certificate final;

OR

• Part I of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
• Proficiency in computer applications;
