Job Summary

The Analyst position in the Transaction Advisory Unit will play a critical role in facilitating investment in development projects specifically on PPPs. The Analyst is expected to provide high-level analytical support, project evaluation, and financial modelling expertise to assist in structuring transactions.

Duties and Responsibilities

The key roles and responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

• Project Evaluation and Analysis: Conduct detailed financial, market, and operational analysis of potential investment projects. This includes assessing project feasibility, risks, returns, and a solid understanding of infrastructuring finance.
• Financial Modelling: To develop complex financial models to stimulate project outcomes under various scenarios and assist in structuring viable financing solutions.
• Transactions Structuring: Work closely with internal coverage teams to structure transactions.
• Stakeholder Engagement: To work with government agencies, project sponsors, other financial institutions, and other DFI stakeholders on project finance opportunities.
• Research and Advisory: Provide research support and advisory services on market trends, investment opportunities, and financial instruments. This includes drafting reports, investment briefs, and presentations for a variety of audiences.
• Capacity Building: Support the development of internal capacity for transaction advisory services through knowledge sharing as may be requested from time to time.

Qualifications and Competences

• A Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field, with professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CFA or equivalent as added advantage.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in finance, investment banking, consultancy, or related field, with a strong focus on financial modelling and project finance.
• Robust analyticial and quantitative orientation with financial modelling and conceptual skills encompassing finance, investment, risk management and project finance.
• Demonstrated experience in structuring complex transactions in the infrastructure sector.
• Proficient in financial analysis software (Excel) and other tools.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in diverse teams and manage multiple projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to non-experts.
