Analyst: Strategy and M&A at Cellulant Corporation

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

This role is a part of the Strategy & Growth team which serves as a connector between the commercial, product, finance, and data teams within the company. We drive value by delivering data-driven insights for the business which then help decision-making. Our key role is to translate the company’s big-picture goals into clear execution initiatives that allow coordinated efforts across markets to deliver growth. The role will also focus on implementing processes and systems to drive strategy and assisting in the preparation and follow-up of business reviews. This role will entail working under the Senior Strategy and M&A manager to assist in Strategy formulation and/or M&A analysis along with aiding other fundraising efforts for the organization as the need arises. Requires a bachelor's degree and experience in corporate/high-growth startup strategy, management consulting, investment banking, venture capital, and private equity.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Helping draft and complete high-quality slides and excel spreadsheets to assist in company strategy execution and on any potential M&A/fundraising transactions.
• Gathering and analyzing information from different country/product teams and from external sources to well define, plan and execute the near and long-term strategic vision of the business.
• Liaising with commercial, finance, and data teams to gather data and draft outputs including analysis/forecasts.
• Creating and managing effective dashboards and reporting solutions to track execution and drive cadence.
• Managing/assisting on projects and financial models required for business strategy formulation and execution.
• Assist other teams (product or country) in articulating the strategy for their respective divisions as inputs in the preparation of the overall global strategy. 
• Providing analytical support on other projects the strategy and growth team are working on as required.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• 2-3  years of work experience in corporate/high growth startup strategy, management consulting, investment banking, venture capital, private equity, or consulting at the big 4 (Kenya, Nigeria, or other anglophone African countries).
• Bachelor’s degree/STEM focussed degree.
• Prior Fintech/Payments Industry Experience.
• Able to conduct in-depth research and drive inferences independently.
• Able to analyze financial information and have a strong understanding of key accounting/finance concepts.
• Able to create detailed plans, frameworks, and other strategy-related deliverables.
• Intermediate understanding of financial modeling, due diligence, and other key processes in a deal cycle.
• Fully Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
