Architectural Technician at NexGen Fuelworks

Job Description

NexGen is a fast-growing technical solutions and services provider for energy distribution networks in East Africa and is seeking an experienced Architectural Technician to prepare and update installation drawings for projects, prepare assembly/manufacture drawings and establish guidelines and procedures for design and build management.

Responsibilities

• Use AutoCAD, Archi – CAD and Sketch-up applications to generate and update working drawings, as-installed drawings, conduit layouts and schematics
• Revise and update existing drawings reflecting design changes
• Draft and prepare layout drawings of the given structures, components and devices.
• Assist, collaborate and coordinate with system designers and project engineers.
• Calculate dimensions and allowances with accurate precision.
• Collaborate with designers, Contractors and engineers on projects.
• Make AutoCAD & ArchiCAD drawings both (2D & 3D)
• Attend Site meetings and Conduct Site surveys to generate site sketches based on installation requirements.
• Keeps track of all tasks and ensures punctual delivery of drawings
• Maintain drawing files and records throughout the duration of contracts
• A good team player who displays thorough follow up and on time performance
• Strong problem-solving skills and a desire to come up with practical solutions

Qualifications /Experience

• Auto CAD Certified
• Diploma in Architecture.
• Understanding of Engineering drawing and principles
• 3 years proven experience in AutoCAD, ArchiCAD and Sketch-up
• Relevant Technical Training & professional certification is an added advantage.
