Associate Manager - Risk & Compliance (Health and Safety) at Majid Al Futtaim

The Associate Manager – Risk and Compliance (Health & Safety) is responsible for implementing health and safety policies across the country, ensuring compliance with local regulations, international standards, and company procedures. They support the country risk manager and store operations to promote a strong, sustainable safety culture for employees, customers, and all retail stakeholders.

ROLE PROFILE

• Work with the Country Risk and Compliance Manager to develop and execute a strategy that reduces risk, engages employees, and fosters a ZERO accidents culture through a proactive, safe work practice that utilizes prevention and mitigation techniques whe
• Develop country health and safety programs, including trainings, awareness sessions , communications and assessments that drive employee engagement and manage performance of the programs by measuring results and reporting to key stakeholders
• Assist the stores during interaction with regulatory agencies (Civil defence and Occupational health and safety authority) and maintain working relationships with them
• Conduct periodic inspections of the stores and other facilities to detect existing or potential safety and fire prevention hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up the implementation of the action plans
• Work with risk and compliance managers to ensures that proper safety incident investigations are continually conducted for all occurrences, determine root cause of incidents and oversee preparation of corrective action plans for each incident
• Assist with the implementation of the performance management process by setting objectives, monitoring performance, and provide constructive feedback and provide inputs to senior management
• Develop and maintain partnerships with regulatory agencies (Civil defence and Occupational health and safety authority)
• Assist and coach the stores risk and compliance managers in handling safety and fire prevention and in conducting related training programs

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in health and safety or equivalent in a closely related field.
• 3+ years' professional experience in Health and Safety is a must. 
• Nebosh and H&S Certification is a must. 
• Certified ISO 45001.
• Risk Assessment & Management and Compliance Monitoring.
• Regulatory Knowledge.
• Good business communication and analyticals skills.
