Backend Developer - Kotlin at Givva Wealthtech Limited

We are seeking a Backend Developer proficient in Java/Kotlin (ideally with experience in Javalin) , and databases(preferably Postgresql). Candidates with strong backend expertise in frameworks such as Spring Boot or Ktor are welcome, with a preference for familiarity with lightweight microframeworks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and optimize backend services using Java/Kotlin
• Design and manage relational databases using PostgreSQL.
• Implement RESTful APIs with secure authentication and authorization mechanisms.
• Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code.
• Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders.
• Optimize database queries and ensure high performance.
• Troubleshoot and debug backend issues.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related course.
• 2+ years’ experience with Java/Kotlin for backend development.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, including database design, indexing, and optimization.
• Experience with REST API development and authentication (JWT, OAuth, etc.).
• Proficiency in version control systems - Git.
• Familiarity with Docker and cloud deployment (AWS, Digital Ocean).
