Biomedical Technician at Bristol Park Hospital

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, and repair all new, used, reconditioned, and damaged medical devices and troubleshooting equipment according to manufacturer or vendor documentation
• Installing and calibrating new biomedical machines, equipment, and software according to medical specifications.
• Evaluating the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of biomedical machines, equipment, and software.
• Maintaining and repairing biomedical machines and equipment, when needed.
• Providing technical support, when needed.
• Keeping up-to-date service histories on all biomedical machines and equipment.
• Training personnel on how to use biomedical machines and equipment, safely and effectively.
• Researching new materials, technologies, and engineering aspects of biological processes and systems.
• Writing reports and documents detailing protocols, policies, standards of use, maintenance, and repairs of biomedical equipment, machines, and software.
• Updating the inventory, placing orders, and verifying deliveries.
• Training and orienting the medical employees on the usage and troubleshooting of the medical equipment.
• Enhance compliance with safety regulations and IPC measures.
• Keeping a digital record of equipment repairs, faulty components, and recalibrated devices.

Qualifications, Experience and Competence:

• Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering or a diploma in Biomedical Engineering with 5 years of progressive experience.
• Proven experience working within the field of biomedical engineering.
