Reporting to the Biomedical Engineer, the candidate participates in routine inspection, installation, testing, commissioning, training, maintenance, calibration and repair of biomedical equipment and plants to ensure maximum uptime of Medical equipment.
Duties and responsibilities
Installation, testing, and commissioning of new biomedical equipment.
Perform planned preventive maintenance of medical equipment
Diagnose equipment malfunction and carry out timely required repairs
Ensure timely, complete and accurate documentation
Test and calibrate components using a variety of manuals, troubleshooting techniques and code requirements
Collecting information on medical engineering services for input into the integrated health information management system;
Implementing Medical Engineering Programmes and Projects.
Ensuring compliance of medical equipment operations with safety and other regulatory standards
Participating in CMEs (Continuous Medical Education) programmes related to Medical Equipment and technology
Any other duty assigned by the supervisor
Requirements:
Diploma or Certificate in Biomedical Engineering. Extensive experience can be considered in lieu of academic background.
3+ Relevant experience preferably within a health facility
Strong interpersonal skills, a team player and problem-solving abilities
Good communication skills
