    Business Programs Lecturer and Counseling Coordinator

    REPORTS TO: HEAD OF ACADEMICS KENYA RED CROSS TRAINING INSTITUTE

    JOB SUMMARY:


    Kenya Red Cross Training Institute (KRCTI) is seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Lecturer in Business Programs, common units and Counselling Coordinator. This position involves teaching business-related programs and common units, as well as coordinating counselling services and mental health support for KRCTI stakeholders.​

    SCOPE OF THE ROLE:

    • Teach business-related programs and common units as assigned by the academic department.
    • Coordinate counseling and mental Health services for KRCTI stakeholders.
    • Develop and implement Mental health/counseling programs and initiatives to address the diverse needs of KRCTI stakeholders
    • Provide individual and group Mental health/counseling sessions
    • Collaborate with faculty, administrators, and external partners to promote mental health awareness and create a supportive environment conducive to learning and personal growth.
    • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify mental health and psychosocial support needs
    • Coordinate referrals to external mental health professionals and agencies for specialized care
    • Organize and facilitate workshops, seminars, and training sessions on topics related to mental health, well-being, and resilience for Kenya Red Cross Training Institute stakeholders.
    • Maintain accurate records of mental health/counseling sessions, assessments, and referrals, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to ethical guidelines and professional standards.
    • Stay updated on current trends, research, and best practices in counseling, mental health, and psychosocial support to inform program development and service delivery.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, CPAK or its equivalent. Master's degree preferred.
    • Training and certification as a counselor from a recognized institution, with registration with the Counsellors and Psychologists Board of Kenya (CPBK).
    • 5 years of professional/academic training experience
    • Previous experience in facilitating workshops/training sessions on first aid and other occupational safety programs
    • Experience in providing counseling/mental health services in educational or community settings, with a focus on mental health and psychosocial support.
    • Strong understanding of counseling theories, techniques, and ethical guidelines, with demonstrated skills in assessment, intervention, and case management.
