Care Economy and Women’s Economic Empowerment Consultant Researcher at African Population And Health Research Center (APHRC)

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will make intellectual contribution and drive the research and policy engagement efforts in collaboration with the team working on the Care Economy Project.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute in the implementation of the Care Economy Project in the West Africa region;
• Participate in the design of empirical research and scientific writing;
• Contribute to policy engagement and dissemination of research findings;

Qualifications and Competencies

• PhD in Social Sciences with over 5 years of post-graduate (Masters or above) work experience;
• Experience and strong interest in the areas of gender and women’s economic empowerment;
• Good record of publications on relevant areas in sub-Saharan Africa;
• Strong qualitative skills (managing, analyzing and interpreting data), with extensive familiarity with quantitative methods;
• Proficiency in spoken and written English and French
