DESCRIPTION:

Our client manages a busy local mall in Kenya. The centre comprises of +/-60,000sqm and is a full service shopping centre, which has gained a position of prominence in the community very quickly, enjoying less than 5% in vacancies.
With some property management functions outsourced; including cleaning, security, and landscaping, our client is looking to appoint a Centre Manager who has excellent background in property management, a strong track record in retail spaces, tactful with rigid negotiation skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• This is a leadership function, as it requires someone who can manage many external service providers who are both on and off site. It also requires someone with fantastic inter-personal skills, who is able to gain the respect and trust of tenants, who you will need to interact with daily. 
• Similarly, your emotional intelligence will help you to ensure that unreasonable or disgruntled shoppers or tenants leave your office feeling satisfied by your service. So whilst you will need to understand retail leases and their operational applications, as well as marketing and its impact on a mall, it is people management that you will spend most of your time on.

EXPERIENCE:

This role would suit someone who is working currently at a centre or with a combined portfolio of more than 40,000sm and has at least 8 years retail management experience.

• A degree in Property Studies, Finance or similar.
• Have gained a minimum of 8 years experience in the industry
• Posess excellent negotiation and communication skills
