    Chief Finance Officer

    Job Summary

    Purpose of the job

    As a key member of the Club’s management team, the Chief Financial Officer will report to the Chairman and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the Club. The CFO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company.

    This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, legal, property management, deal analysis and negotiations, investor relationships and partnership compliance and private and institutional financing.

    We are looking for an individual with:

    • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the club leadership and staff
    • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely
    • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results- orientation.

    Technical requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Majoring in Business, Accounting, Auditing or Finance).
    • 5+ years of progressive responsibility in financial or audit leadership roles, preferably in hospitality industry
    • Must be a full, active, and qualified accountant of at least 3 years (either CPA-K or ACCA) and currently of good
    • Training through hospitality management
    • Over 8 years working experience, 5 of which should be in a management position.
    • Knowledge of Private Members Club financial management is an added advantage.
    • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance, while an MBA will be an added advantage.

    Responsibilities

    • Provides leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial
    • Ensure credibility of Finance department by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and
    • Take hands-on lead position of developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive job cost
    • Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the
    • Evaluates and advises on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/ strategies and regulatory
    • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with Committee Members so as to identify the needs of Members and seek full range of business
    • Provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business
    • Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting to the Company.
    • Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
    • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable KRA, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax
    • Analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems
    • Analyze and advise on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments and future revenues and expenditure
    • Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses
    • Analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems
    • Prepare briefings and reports to drive agendas, and attend Main Committee and Finance Sub- Committee meetings
