Job Requirement

A person shall be qualified for appointment as Chief Counsel Legislative Affairs if the person;

• Holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognized university
• Is an advocate of the high court of Kenya of at least 5 years post admission experience.
• Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
• Demonstrates excellent communication and reporting skills
• Demonstrates excellent research skills.
• Possesses a Certificate in Legislative Drafting
• Demonstrates experience in Legislative Drafting.

Job Description

• Initiating and coordinating research on emerging legal issues that inform policy formulation and review.
• Drafting legislative proposals for the County Government.
• Drafting and reviewing bills and policies emanating from the County Executive.
• Providing legal advice and opinions on legislative matters.
• Assisting in developing, and reviewing policies and procedures to ensure that they are in tandem with the existing legislation.
• Preparing statutes for revision and publication of annual supplements.
