Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Pundit Space

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical strategy and product development roadmap for the Wasafiri App
• Oversee AWS cloud architecture for performance, scalability, and cost optimization
• Work closely with our external app development partner to manage delivery timelines and code quality
• Set up and integrate customer support tools (Freshdesk Contact Center, WhatsApp, chatbots etc)
• Build and automate a secure, AI-enhanced customer experience, including self-service journeys
• Recruit, lead, and inspire a small in-house technical team as we scale
• Monitor system performance, data protection, and compliance with global standards (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS)
• Collaborate with the Founder/CEO on product vision, reporting, and business growth alignment

Requirements

• 2–3 years’ experience in software engineering, DevOps, or technical leadership
• Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront)
• Familiar with mobile app stacks (e.g., React Native, Flutter, Firebase, Node.js)
• Previous experience working in remote or hybrid teams
• Proven ability to manage external tech vendors and partners
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity, APIs, and cloud architecture best practices
• Exposure to AI tools or automation platforms a major plus
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• Must be based in Nairobi or willing to relocate
