TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR POLICY CONSULTANT

EACHRights is currently implementing the “Watoto Wetu” project whose overall objective is to “contribute to the reduction of harmful cultural practices and enhancing access to, and, quality of education in pastoralist counties through advocacy and community partnership” with specific focus on girls in the pastoralist Counties of Kajiado, Marsabit, and Garissa. The themes for the project are: female genital mutilation and child marriage.
Job description
Since 2018, EACHRights has been partnering with the Marsabit County Government and other county-based organizations towards the formulation of an integrated and all-inclusive child protection policy that will enable the County to enhance the protection of their children. Several policy consultative forums with stakeholders have taken place in various sub-counties during which views and recommendations on the key child protection issues have been collected to enrich the formulation of the child protection policy. In the next phase of this process, EACHRights is now seeking an experienced consultant to analyse and interpret the data collected and facilitate the drafting of Marsabit child protection policy.

The Consultant is expected to be self-motivated and able to work independently. However, support will be provided by the Watoto Wetu project team in availing the relevant information on previous activities undertaken towards the formulation of the Marsabit child protection policy.
