Clinical Officer (Optometrist) at County Government of Kitui

Requirements:

• Diploma in Optometry or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
• Certificate of Registration from the relevant professional body
• Valid Professional Practice License from the relevant professional body
• Proficiency in computer applications

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and vision tests
• Diagnose, manage, and treat eye and visual system disorders
• Prescribe corrective lenses (spectacles and contact lenses)
• Detect systemic conditions affecting the eyes (e.g., diabetes, hypertension)
• Conduct refractions and low-vision assessment
• Manage and refer complex ophthalmic cases as appropriate
• Provide pre- and post-operative eye care for surgical patients
