CNC Lathe Operator at Safal Group

Main purpose of the position:

Responsible for handling and operating the CNC lathe machine as per set procedure and deliver the expected outcome

Key responsibilities:

• Perform tool changes and off sets
• Document all information pertaining to the setup and operation of each job assigned
• Operate the CNC lathes using Mazatrol Controls and G and M code
• Perform CNC Lathes operations or any other task assigned in an environment to produce a quality part that meets all print requirements
• Must be able to read and understand drawings, able to make set-up’s including gauges, micrometers, select required tooling and edit programs with minimum assistance from shop leads
• Perform preventive maintenance as per established schedule
• Document Maintenance and Repairs in Daily Log/work order
• Maintain workplace as per established 6S standards
• Comply with company safety guidelines and procedures.
• Perform other related tasks and duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications required:

• Minimum academic qualification:  Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Qualifications as an added advantage:
• Professional registration:

Experience required:

• General work experience (years): 3 Years a Machine Operator
• Specific to the position (level/discipline/years): 2+ years of hands on experience operating and setting-up a CNC lathe machines
• Industry:  Manufacturing

Key competencies and skills:

• Ability to use measuring devices such as micrometre, calliper, and height gauge
• Ability to read, interpret, understand drawings, blueprints, sketches, and specifications
• Must be able to set up and operate CNC lathes efficiently
• Knowledge of machine programming language Mazatrol/Fanuc
• Knowledge in AutoCAD Technology
• Planning & organizing skills
• Effective communication skills
