Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific duties will entail:
- Oversee performance management in the Finance Section;
- Oversee performance management and roles of the commercial section;
- Develop department budget and work plan;
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual reports for thedepartment;
- Prepare Board management papers for approval;
- Identify procurement need of the department;
- Prepare and review departmental policies and accounting manual in linewith international financial standards and government regulations;
- Budget preparation/cashflow management review to ensure sustainabilityand giving strategic advice to Board. Manage reporting of financial statements/performance to board;
- Participate in strategic planning and implementation;
- Establish and ensure application of sound financial polices (e.g. financialmanual for the company), systems and procedures for the company incompliance with statutory regulations;
- Conduct periodic review of actual performance against budget and explainany variances;
- Control expenditure for decision making; and
- Performing related work as may be required.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must:
- Be a Kenyan Citizen;
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or any other Business-relatedfield from a recognized institution;
- Possession of a master’s degree in finance is an added advantage
- CPA (K), ACCA or relevant professional qualification;
- Member of a relevant professional body and in good standing;
- At least 7 years’ relevant work experience with at least 3 years in managerial or supervisory position; and
- Meet the requirements of chapter six of the Constitution.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to produce clearance certificates from the following institutions to meet requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya:
- Kenya Revenue Authority
- Higher Education Loans Board
- Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission
- Criminal Investigation Department
- Credit Reference Bureau
