    Commercial Officer

    About the Job:

    The Commercial Officer will report directly to the MD and will be primarily concerned with ensuring Frederick Bittiner Wear’s integrated commercial success. They will help to ensure our sales and marketing efforts align for success. and will have primary responsibility for revenue generation and client retention. Their primary focus will be the development and maintenance of best-in-class teams and processes to drive our top-line. The role requires a combination of strong technical solution selling skills with strong marketing, branding and business development skills. The Commercial Officer will take ownership of the customer and the customer interface with our products and services offering, making sure that all functions of the organization are aligned to meet our strategic commercial objectives. The Commercial Officer will also lead our sales and marketing teams in drafting, implementing, and evaluating plans and cross-functional decisions that will enable the company to achieve its long-term objectives. She/he will act and think as a leader and will incorporate our company values while inspiring confidence and generating excitement, enthusiasm, and commitment towards our mission.

    The Commercial Officer will be responsible for overseeing a diverse group of marketing, sales, customer service and merchandising staff and will coordinate activities with other corporate functions including Design, production, and Product Development.

    This is a working leadership role with a combination of supervision, oversight, and hands-on work. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive, energetic, and engaging style to get ahead, and stay ahead, of the various challenges. This is a role for someone who likes to bounce between detailed tasks and strategic goals and can latch onto opportunities and see them through to completion. If you don't like leading meetings, building reports, motivating the team, or holding people accountable this isn't the role for you.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    • Lead company revenue generation / brand / marketing / sales strategies: Develop strategic direction and plans with regard to all commercial functions to achieve the objectives of promoting the company's brands, products and services to achieve overall objectives relating to revenue, profitability and market share. Implement and maintain sales processes designed to achieve specific sales objectives. Create a consistent image of the company and maintain it in all branding, marketing and advertising content. Oversee the provision of market information and marketing strategy to the sales team, Look for opportunities to grow the business, whether through partnerships or new initiatives. Continuously assess risks and make recommendations based on a thorough analysis of all factors involved.
    • Build and oversee the marketing, sales, buying & merchandising and customer service teams: Overseeing the buying & merchandising, marketing, sales & customer experience teams. Maintain a culture that attracts, retains and motivates top quality personnel. Recruit, train, appraise, supervise, support, develop, promote and terminate team members. Set the expected performance standards, as well as work with the HR & Finance teams to determine team size & structure as well as the most appropriate incentive/compensation system. Develop and implement training plans.
    • Financial Monitoring / Budget Management: Develop and manage the marketing and sales budgets. Provide financial and revenue support and reporting to the rest of the company’s senior management team. Set budgets for monthly buying, objectives for each store, discussed performance with retail partners and store managers to optimize sales and find point to improve.
    • Report generation / data analysis: Analyse activity related to marketing and sales and establish realistic and meaningful KPIs. Regularly review data and reports. Prepare periodic (Monthly, Quarterly, Semi Annual and Annual) reports on the progress of the Marketing, Sales and commercial activities.
    • Customer / Store Operations: Oversee all aspects of customer and store operations in order to ensure delivery of high in-store standards. Responsible for Store Coverage, getting the feedback from the Stores, merchandising standards and implementation of the whole store activities. Responsible for getting feedback from stores and customers and using it to help improve performance of the merchandising, sales & marketing teams.
    • Overseeing procedures: Providing guidance and input on designing new processes or procedures for conducting work in their related areas of responsibility.
    • Partnerships: Build exceptional customer relationships and drive strategic partnerships. Present externally as a representative of the company
    • Leading launches: Leading launches of new stores, products and services

    Job-related Education, Experience and/or Other Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree of Business Management/ Marketing/ Economics/Finance.
    • Experienced at representing the commercial function within the Senior Leadership Team, as well as being an active contributor.
    • At least 5 years of experience in an overall or Assistant commercial/business function having held executive roles in recognized innovative organizations, of which 2+ years included senior marketing/sales management experience and HR-related functions (hiring, performance reviews, etc.)
    • Experience designing and implementing KPIs and reporting for marketing and sales
    • Experience with public speaking and press interviews
    • Experience developing partnerships and B2B collaborations for marketing and sales
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
