    Company Secretary

    The Company Secretary will manage the legal function of the Company, providing legal advice to the Board of management, overseeing litigation and reviewing contracts to ensure compliance to government regulations and company policies.

    Key Skills & Qualifications:

    • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized institution; a Master's degree in Law is an added advantage.
    • Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law.
    • Admission as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a valid practicing certificate.
    • Membership with the Law Society of Kenya and certification as a Certified Public Secretary (CPS K).
    • Master's Degree in Law or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution will be an added advantage;
    • Proficiency in computer applications relevant to legal and corporate governance.
    • At least 8 years of legal experience, with 5 years at a managerial level.
    • Strong leadership skills to manage people, operations, and financial resources effectively.
    • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and think strategically.
    • Excellent organizational and coordination skills.
    • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.

    Key Competencies

    • Effective management and oversight of all legal functions, including advising the Board on legal and regulatory matters. •Ensuring compliance with constitutional, regulatory, and all relevant laws to minimize risks.
    • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, Service Level Agreements, and licensing frameworks.
    • Providing timely and accurate legal advice to the company and staff on various legal topics.
    • Managing and monitoring litigation, including liaising with external counsel.
    • Custody and management of statutory documents, legal agreements, and minutes of board meetings. -Enhancing corporate governance by formulating policies and procedures for the company.
    • Overseeing the registration and protection of intellectual property rights.
    • Designing and delivering legal training to ensure compliance and awareness across the organization. -Leading and mentoring the legal team to optimize performance.
    • Developing and implementing legal strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
    • Managing the legal department's budget to ensure cost-efficiency and resource optimization.
