Compliance Lead East Africa, Nigeria and Ghana at Roche Kenya

We are opening an opportunity for a Compliance Lead Central and East Africa, with the flexibility of location in Kenya, Nigeria or Ghana (possible 6-12 months assignment with remote location). Compliance Lead will support affiliates in their business activities, in close collaboration with Compliance Officers network and Healthcare Compliance Contacts. You are expected to enable affiliates to continuously improve their integrity mindset and patient-centric focus. In partnership with leadership teams you will support compliance oversight and continuously assist the improvement of the compliance program in your area or responsibility. 

Your main accountabilities

1.  Support development of the compliance framework and foster a culture of integrity and ethical business practices, consistent with the Roche values and external requirements
2. Support the development of compliance professionals across the area, facilitating business-enabling advise
3. Anticipate business needs, provide business-enabling advice and shape opportunities
4. Support the implementation of global policies and directives, initiatives and support local SOP/process development, striving for simplification
5. Advise all staff regarding compliance obligations, risks, proactive risk management strategies, actual or potential compliance-related matters, investigation and resolution of issues, as well as corrective actions
6. Support collaboration with the management to perpetuate a “tone at the top” and “middle” that reflects the company’s commitment to ethical and legal business conduct as well as compliance with the letter and spirit of the law and global policies
7. Take accountability of the overall governance model of the organizations, which assures alignments across all compliance functions.

Support to affiliates

1.  Support identification, offer and, as requested, deliverance of support to affiliates. Among others, this is supposed to be done through agreed means, such as:
2. Materials (e.g. local/ regional guidance or SOPs, training materials)
3. Services (e.g. trainings, monitoring, risks assessment)
4. Facilitate working groups and forums on healthcare related topics
5. Help and advice on healthcare question

 General

1. Support analysis of general trends and healthcare effectiveness. Support analysis of and report on divisional compliance status, using existing metrics and data.
2. Support gaining of overview over all healthcare requirements.
3. Support setting and simplification, harmonization and improvement of standards as appropriate (guidance, directives SOPs etc.).
4. Establish and facilitate appropriate forums and processes to fulfill accountabilities.
5. Support development and provision of effective means and materials to educate and train pharma management, staff and collaborating parties on healthcare.
6. Support tracking of training

Qualifications/Skills

1. You hold a university degree or equivalent competency level.
2. Excellent communication, presentation and writing skills. Ability to precisely articulate and differentiate, express appropriately.
3. You identify and manage complexity through the ability to quickly understand and analyze facts and situations
4. You have strong influencing skills
5. You have high ethical and integrity standards

Experience

1. Profound expertise in compliance management, ideally as responsible Compliance Officer; 5 years plus.
2. Proven business experience.
3. Solid experience in change management and managing complex projects.
4. You are experienced in leading people.

Knowledge

1. Understanding of business conduct, system environment and culture.
2. Understanding of the healthcare industry.
3. Understanding of markets and corresponding access, commercial and medical approach.
