    Consultancy on Development of County Risk Profiles

    Documentation

    The consultant will package the risk information for the counties. This will include analytical approach detailing factors considered, process followed in the analysis, the results of the analysis, recommendation on areas of improvement and maintenance of the risk profiles. The consultant is expected to interact with the KRCS technical project team for feedback before finalizing the key deliverables. The consultant with support from KRCS, will present the results to the county stakeholders in a dissemination workshop.

    Duration of the consultancy

    The consultancy is estimated to spread out between late-July 2022 and mid-August 2022.

    Reporting

    The consultant will report to the Project Manager in KRCS, and work in close collaboration the larger project team.

    Required qualifications for the consultant(s)

    Education

    1. Masters or higher degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics, Agriculture, Environmental Sciences, Disaster Risk Management, Disaster Risk Financing, Climate Change Economics, or a related field

    Experience

    1. Demonstrate experience in the field Disaster Risk Management and Disaster Risk Financing including with International and Inter-Governmental Organizations, International NGOs, Foundations or Government Services
    2. Excellent skills in synthesizing information, report writing, and generating summaries; Fluency in English
    3. Good knowledge on climate risk modelling and or using climate risk models
    4. Experience with facilitating multi-stakeholder participatory discussions and organising workshops will be essential.

    Knowledge and Skills

    1. Significant experience with climate change adaption programmes, with an expert knowledge of the UNFCCC, climate adaptation funds and the dialogues on climate change adaptation.
