    Core Network Support Engineer – Fixed Data

    Reporting to the Manager – Core Network Data Support, the responsibility of the Core Network Engineer – Fixed Data shall include but is not limited operation, maintenance, optimization, automation, transformation, implementation & support of Evolved Packet Core for Fixed Data (FixedLTE, 5G Fixed Wireless Access, FTTx Core).

    Key Responsibilities

    Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

    • Responsible for implementation, Operation and Maintenance of EPC network elements: SGSN/MME, GGSN/PGW/SGW, PCRF, DNS, EPSN.
    •  Integration of 4G, 5G RAN to the core network.
    • Integration to Billing, routers, switches, CGNAT, Firewalls, DNS, etc
    • Implementation and support of new products: FixedLTE, Fixed 5G Wireless, QOS, Rating groups, LTEoMPLS, etc
    • Integration of FTTx Core to EPC: Broadband Network Gateways (BNG) for FTTx, Enterprise networks.
    • Perform tracing and complex logs analysis for Packet Core Nodes.
    • Exceptional troubleshooting skill is required to solve the customer issues without escalating to the vendor.
    • Proactive maintenance and monitoring of key network and system KPIs
    • Configuration management
    • Perform BCP exercises and documentation as per BCP calendar.
    • Develop predictive analysis to avert system faults/incidents.
    • Fault/incident resolution within SLA
    • Assists with the design process and assists in guidance with regards to practices, procedures, and techniques.
    • Works with Business Agile teams and technology teams to determine if Core Network infrastructure and applications fit specification and technical requirements.
    •  Tests and evaluates systems, subsystems, and components.
    • Acts as a technical contact and liaison for outside vendors and/or customers.
    • Troubleshoots and resolves complex Core network issues affecting customer experience.
    • Designs and configures Core Network System.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Must have technical / professional qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or  related certification
    • Generally requires 3-5 years related experience

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Hands-on knowledge in the following areas:
      • LTE and 5G NSA callflows
      • FTTH/GPON access/core
      • Intermediate to advanced Routing and switching of Cisco and/or Huawei IP networks.
    • Practical (testing, troubleshooting) knowledge of the mentioned above technologies
    • Knowledge and experience in using various test, packet capture and measurement equipment.
    • Linux administration and networking.
    • Added advantage: Knowledge of NetDevOps delivery pipeline for automation of network operations and management: Python, Ansible, Git, etc
