IT Assistant at Decase Chemicals Limited

Position Overview:

• We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy IT Assistant to join our team. In this entry-level role, you will provide basic technical support, assist with system maintenance, and help ensure our daily IT operations run smoothly. This is an ideal role for a quick learner looking to build a foundation in IT administration and user support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first-line desktop and technical support for internal staff (hardware, software, network connections, and peripherals).
• Assist with the setup, configuration, and deployment of user workstations, laptops, and software applications.
• Diagnose and resolve basic system, hardware, and network troubleshooting issues.
• Maintain an inventory of IT assets, including computers, monitors, accessories, and software licenses.
• Assist in managing user accounts, permissions, and security access controls.
• Perform routine system backups, updates, and maintenance tasks under supervision.
• Document common support issues and resolution procedures.

Education: 

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, System Administration, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience/certifications).
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware, desktop operating systems (Windows / macOS / Linux), and standard office software.
• Foundational understanding of computer networking concepts (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, routers, switches, local networks).
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a methodical approach to problem-solving.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to assist team members with varying technical capabilities.
• Relevant entry-level certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Fundamentals) are a plus.
