    Dental Consultant

    Job Summary

    Diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimes by assessing the dental health and performing the appropriate dental interventions. 

    Key Responsibilities

    • Discuss and treat dental concerns, performing regular cleanings and other preventative & corrective procedures and establish a plan for better dental hygiene;
    • Ordering diagnostic measures, such as x-rays, models, etc.;
    • Performing dental procedures, such as extractions, root canals, and filling cavities in a professional manner while keeping the needs of the patient at the forefront;
    • Prescribing appropriate medications for dental problems;
    • Examine clients’ oral cavity according to the existence of cavities or diseases of the oral mucosa and the gum;
    • Supervision of professional tooth cleaning/full mouth scaling;
    • Train and educate patients on how perform effective oral hygiene at home;
    • Increase number of clients through marketing services and creative practice options;
    • Consult with patients about dental options to discuss treatment of the mouth and teeth;
    • Keep accurate records of patient visits, diagnosis and treatment;
    • Managing and training other dental staff;
    • Plan and manage budgets of dental practice;
    • Order equipment and maintain equipment inventory as needed;
    • Maintain sanitary environment for patient care and examination
    • Supervise and care for hygiene in the dental unit

    Qualifications, Skills and Experience

    • Degree in dental surgery, holding a valid practicing license and retention certificate from the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Council;
    • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in dental practice in a busy hospital;
    • Comply with all applicable laws regarding dental and health care;
    • Comprehensive knowledge of dental procedures, tools, and diagnostics.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to keep detailed records;
    • Good management skills;
    • Stay updated on patient care, new technology and new products that can improve or treat patient conditions or improve overall health.
